World Yacht prepares Deck candidates for MCA oral examinations from OOW to Master Unlimited, including yacht and small commercial routes. Courses run for four weeks with monthly intakes, live online by Zoom or in the Glasgow classroom, from £850.

Every Deck oral asks the same underlying question: can this officer be trusted with the responsibility of the certificate? The subject matter changes with the rank, but the examiner is always testing judgement as much as recall.
Our Deck preparation is organised by ticket, so you study what your examination actually covers — taught first by experienced instructors, then rehearsed in oral format until the answers come out cleanly under questioning.
