What this preparation is for

UKLAP Grade 1 is the MCA's Masters-level examination in UK legal and administrative processes. For the merchant syllabus, the official assessment is an online, computer-based and proctored test of 26 multiple-choice questions, with 40 minutes available and a 70% pass mark. It is open-book subject to MCA examination rules and permitted materials.

Both preparation routes on this page prepare candidates for that same official Grade 1 computer-based examination. The four-day live course teaches the published processes and includes one mock CBT/exam simulation; UKLAPIQ provides a separate, self-paced LMS and CBT-practice route.

There is no routine Part A-to-Part B oral pathway for UKLAP Grade 1. Under current MCA guidance, an online oral examination with an MCA surveyor is offered only when a candidate has not passed within two computer-based attempts. World Yacht provides preparation only and does not conduct the official MCA examination or award its pass result.

How the preparation works

Learn, practise, then simulate the CBT

A focused sequence built around the official Grade 1 computer-based examination.

01

Learn the published processes

Work through the Grade 1 syllabus as practical responsibilities: who acts, what must happen, when it is required and which record or report follows.

02

Practise multiple-choice decisions

Apply the legislation and administrative procedures to focused questions rather than treating preparation as a routine oral-exam rehearsal.

03

Use permitted references effectively

Build familiarity with the source material and practise finding the right information efficiently under the MCA's open-book examination rules.

04

Rehearse the CBT format

The instructor-led route includes one mock computer-based test/exam simulation. UKLAPIQ provides a separate self-paced LMS and CBT-practice route.

05

Review gaps and reasoning

Use results and feedback to identify weak areas, correct misunderstandings and strengthen procedural decision-making before the official test.

06

Sit the official MCA examination

Book and complete the official assessment separately. World Yacht prepares candidates but does not conduct the exam or award the pass result.

UKLAP Grade 1 preparation

£1,675

Batch: — starts

The £1,675 checkout covers only the four-day instructor-led World Yacht preparation course and one mock CBT/exam simulation. UKLAPIQ and the official MCA examination are separate purchases. World Yacht does not conduct the official examination or award its pass result.

Preparing for the MCA Grade 1 exam, not replacing it

Both options on this page are preparation for the official MCA UKLAP Grade 1 computer-based examination. World Yacht does not book or conduct that examination, award the pass result or guarantee an outcome. An MCA surveyor oral is offered only after two unsuccessful CBT attempts under current guidance; it is not a routine second stage.
